RED DOG

Back to games help

1) Description and objective

Red Dog, also known as Red Dog Poker or Yablon, is a simple game of chance played with cards. It is a variation of acey-deucey or in-between. The game only uses three cards at a time, which are ranked as in poker, with aces high. Suit is irrelevant.

2) How to play

  • Select a chip value in the right bottom corner of the table
  • Place your bet in the "ANTE" field. You can place an optional bet in the "BONUS" field.
  • Click "Deal" to start the game.
  • Two cards are dealt.
  • The side bet is evaluated according to the table below and paid out.
  • Then the ante bet is evaluated, depending on the cards values, a third card may be dealt.
  • The ante bet is evaluated and paid out.

3) Specific game rules

The game is played with two standard decks (without jokers).
After the player has made a wager, two cards are dealt. Cards are ranked as in poker with the ace as the highest card. If the player placed a side bet, the result is evaluated according to the table below and is paid out.
Next the ante bet is evaluated, there are three possibilities for the game to end:

  • If the cards are consecutive in number (for example, a four and a five, or a jack and a queen), the game is a push.
  • If the two cards are of equal value, a third card is dealt. If the third card is of the same value, then the payout for the player is 11:1, otherwise the game is a push.
  • If the two cards difference is greater than one place (for example, a three and an eight), then a spread is announced which determines the payout, pending the outcome of a third card which will be dealt. If this third card's value falls between the first two, the player wil receive a payout according to the spread (see the table below), otherwise the bet is lost. Before dealing the third card, the player has the option to double his bet.

4) Paytable and limits

The minimum bet is 0.10$ and the maximum bet is 150$. For different currencies or when playing with a bonus the maximum bet may be adjusted.
